AC Refrigeration
The best air conditioning unit is the one you don’t have to think about. It comes on the moment the indoor temperature reaches the point you have set on the thermostat, registering the room requires cooling. A quality system runs quietly and efficiently. When it’s time to perform routine maintenance, make repairs or replace your system, it’s helpful to understand how an air conditioning system works.
The Refrigeration Cycle
The First Step: Using electricity as its power source, the refrigerant flows through a closed system of refrigeration lines between the indoor unit and the outdoor unit.
Step 2: Warm air from the inside of your house is pulled into your home by a motorized fan.
Step 3: The refrigerant is pumped from the exterior compressor coil to the interior evaporator coil, where it absorbs the heat from the air.
Step 4: This cooled air is then pushed into the indoor unit to cool the air throughout your home, lowering the interior temperature.
. . . . and the refrigeration cycle continues, providing a consistent method of cooling your home!
